Privacy note
World with Duckie is a small, non-commercial community project run by Özgür Poyrazoğlu in Istanbul, Türkiye. This note explains what happens to the information you send with your duck.
What we collect
When you submit a duck we store the photo, the place details you enter (city, country, landmark, date, occasion and story), your name, the country you're based in, your email address and, if you add them, your Instagram handle and LinkedIn link. We also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for up to a day to stop automated spam.
When you use the contact form we store your name, email address and message so we can read and answer it. Messages are never published.
What we remove
Photos are re-saved before upload and cleaned again on our server, so hidden details such as GPS location, camera model and time stamps are not stored.
What is published
Only after a person has reviewed and approved your duck: the photo, the place details, your name, the country you're based in and, if given, your Instagram handle and LinkedIn link. These may also be shared on the @worldwithduckie Instagram account. Your email address is never published or shared. We only use it to contact you about your duck.
Where it lives
The site and its data are hosted by Cloudflare. The bot check on the forms is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile. When a duck or a message arrives, a notification email with its details is sent to the site owner through the email service Resend.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to change or remove your duck and your details. Use the contact form or send a direct message to @worldwithduckie, and we'll take it down from the site. Posts already shared on Instagram will be removed there too.
